To keep contact alive ROD is represented on Facebook (at least) four locations:

• A page, where the working group communicates with the participants.
• A group, where all participants can talk with each other.
• A group for Århus.
• A group for Copenhagen.

Jamsessions and running events

• Every first Wednesday of the month there is a ROD-jam in Copenhagen, which is arranged in this group.
• If you like Irish, The Bloomsday Bar in Copenhagen (Niels Hemmingsen Gade 32) has a jam every Sunday at 3pm. (It appears that Bloomsday has been sold, and the jams up there are uncertain for now.)
• Second Friday of each month the Folkets Hus Spillefolk holds their monthly jam “Ramslag”. It changes slightly when it is held, but keep you updated at http://spillefolk.dk/.
• In Odensethere is a jam every other Thursday at Christian 4-tal (Vintapperstræde 31). Get more information at Folk Club Fyn.
• In Aarhus there is a an Irish jam at Waxies (Frederiksgade 16) each Sunday at 3pm.
• Each Monday there’s a Monday-dance at Århus Folkemusikhus.

FOD

RODs sister-event FOD is held every year in autumn holiday (week 42). Keep up to date at their site and Facebook group.

Education

In addition to conservatory education in folk music at Syddansk Musikkonservatorium og Skuespillerskole, you can take MGK with a focus on folk music in Kolding, Odense and Køge. It appears that an MGK and a conservatory in folk music is on it’s way to Århus, you can contact Julie Heebøll about that.

If you want to work with folk music at “højskole”, there are three good offers in Sweden: Skurup, Bollnäs and Gotland.

Festivals

Each year ROD gets invited to a myriad of festivals where we play concerts. Watch your email for more info. For invitations and otherwise, working group 2012s festival officers, Rune and Martin, can be contacted on festival@rodfolk.dk. You can also contact the whole working group 2012.

The first festival ROD hase been invited to this year is the Odense Folk Festival (Facebook group) – it takes place from 18th to 20th of May in Odense – you will get more info about it on email.

Concert recordings

The first Rough Cut version of the concert recording is now available. The recordings come from Rune Øster and Rune Colin, and they are edited by Kamil.

You can fetch the entire concert (292MB), or single tracks.

The entire concert was also recorded in a more professional manner. This “real” recording requires much more work, and come out “when it gets done.”

Some of you haven’t discovered that we have changed the location to Rolfsted Skole, Skolevej 6, 5863 Ferritslev Fyn.

For those of you who missed it, we wrote about transport possibilities in the participant letter.

In the last-minute we’ve changed the location of ROD to Rolfsted Skole (address) — and it’s also there that our concert will take place.

We’ve been made aware that some of you didn’t notice that ROD2012 will be a day longer than last year! This means that we end ROD at Friday the 6th of April.

Last weekend we sent out a participant-letter to your email adresses, and we’re still working on translating it to English. We’ll post an update here when it’s done.

Please be aware that the transport to Rolfsted can be difficult. We will do our best to describe it in the participant-letter, but don’t hesitate to contact us if you need help.

We look forward to seeing you in just 8 days!

All of the late and international payments must be on our account no later than 20 February (next Monday).

We are going to hand out waiting list spots at the 20th of February.

Today we managed to sent out links to the page where you can register the missing information, if you signed up in the third round.

If you didn’t to get your mail, check first your spam folder please, but otherwise contact us — we’ll sort it out :)

We are very happy in the working group that there is so much support for our little event! We know that there were some problems during the last registration phase, so we have made some efforts to prevent it from happening again when the registration opens this evening at 18:00.

Tonight, when you’re registering for ROD2012, you will only have to fill in your name and e-mail address. In the confirmation e-mail you’ll receive, there will be a link to a page on which you’ll be able to fill in the rest of the information, after the onslaught has passed.

Should you be unfortunate enough not to get a spot in the third registration phase, we encourage everybody to register on the waiting list, which opens immediately after the registration phase. We’re very interested in getting an image of the actual interest in a larger number of participants, for use by next year’s working group. Last year, approximately the first 25 on the waiting list got into the event.

We wish you all success tonight at 18:00.

Fortunately, there are still twenty tickets left in today’s pool, and we look very much forward to give them away! We regret the error many times, but we are also very proud that our little folk seminar gets so much attention from around the country and the rest of Europe.

Registration will open again tomorrow Tuesday the 17th January 2012 at 12:00.

Therefore, we move the first payment deadline up to the 20th of January (next Friday) – and hopefully we can send out confirmations of your transfers before then.
To put it plainly: no one will be deleted from the list before the 20th on January. So if you have not paid yet, hurry up!

On a more positive note, we open the second registration phase tomorrow at 12:00 – we look forward to seeing your registrations!

We experienced a minor technical issue, that resulted in some of you not receiving the confirmation email, so we will re-send them shortly.

To all of you who missed it this time, next registration round opens on Monday the 16th of January 2012 at 12:00.

We would also like to point out the payment deadlines which mean that everyone who signed up in the first round must pay before the 14th of January.
